Antique Oil Painting after Sir John Everett Millais Bubbles

Antique late 19th century hand painted painting after Sir John Everett Millais 'Bubbles'.  The painting portrays a young golden-haired boy looking up at a bubble, symbolising the beauty and fragility of life. The painting is an extremely well painted oil on canvas, which was later placed on cardboard, most likely in the middle of the 20th century.   

MEASUREMENTS: Dimensions with the frame: 26.7 cm x 21.7 cm (10 1/2 in x 8 1/2 in). Dimensions of the painting: 18 cm x 13 cm (7 1/8 in x 5 1/8 in).  

CONDITION: The paint on the lower part of the painting is worn out, a clear evidence of unprofessional cleaning, which was performed to the painting most likely at the same time when the canvas was glued to the cardboard. Corners of the frame are chipped.
