SOLD Antique 19th century Turkish Ottoman dagger Bichaq. DETAILS: A slightly curved single – edged steel blade cut with fullers, a hilt encased in silvered brass, with applied ornaments repousse with scrolling foliage and rococo pattern and flowers.

In its original velvet – covered wooden scabbard with large locket and chape, decorated en suite with the hilt with applied repousse ornaments. The Bichaq dagger was very popular not only in Turkey and Greece, but also in many Balkan states and Armenia.

MEASUREMENTS: Overall length with the scabbard: 32 cm (12 5/8 in).

CONDITION: The blade is with wear and pitting, the silver coating is worn. Signs of usage, which can be expected from an antique over 100 year old combat weapon.
