Antique 18th century Zand Dynasty period (1750–1794) Indo-Persian Islamic dagger Khanjar – Jambiya. DETAILS: A long very sturdy, and extremely sharp, curved double-edged tapering steel blade, cut with a central fuller, and decorated on each side in silver koftgari, with a running pattern of foliage and perching birds. A waisted steel hilt of typical form, chiseled with cartouches, enclosing perching birds, amongst floral sprays and running gazelles.

MEASUREMENTS: The overall length is: 42 cm (16 1/2 in).

CONDITION: In good condition considering its age, except for worn silver koftgari decoration, some splits in the brass soldering at the joints of the steel hilt.
